What is PRP?

Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy or PRP hair treatment is a substance drawn from your blood and injected into your scalp that can purportedly help heal bodily tissues, including follicles from which your hairs grow. It uses the growth factors of your own blood to stimulate hair follicles, boost hair growth, and promote tissue repair. PRP gained massive attention due to the high success rate. It is an effective treatment for hair loss.

How PRP is done

Platelet-Rich Plasma PRP therapy is a three-step treatment where your blood is extracted, processed, and then injected into your scalp. According to the medical practitioners, the procedure sets off the hair growth in the scalp naturally. Sometimes the process is combined with other hair loss treatments or medicines to get the highest possible result.

Steps - Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Hair Treatment

  • 1 Extraction Extract approximately 10 ml-20 ml of blood from your arm.
  • 2 Segregation Blood is kept in a centrifuge Machine for separation. The centrifuge Machine separates platelet-rich plasma, from the blood sample.
  • 3 Injection Injects the Platelet-rich plasma into the affected area.

Who Can Benefit from PRP?

  1. Both men and women. Male balding and hair thinning is talked about extensively, but women do not often get the same benefit of widespread information. The fact is that women can lose hair, too, due to several different factors.
  2. Those suffering from androgenic alopecia or other forms of alopecia. This is also known as male/female pattern baldness. It is a hereditary condition that affects most people.
  3. A sizeable age range of people. Many successful clinical trials have been tested with people ranging from 18 to 72 years of age.
  4. Those suffering from hair loss due to high-stress levels. Since this condition is not chronic, it can be treated rather easily.
  5. Those who have recently experienced hair loss. The more recent the hair loss occurred, the better your chances are of fixing it before it is too late for PRP Treatment.
  6. Those with thinning or balding hair, but not completely bald people. PRP Treatment is meant to thicken, strengthen, and grow hair from follicles that are still functioning, however weakly this may seem.
